Kearney, Nebraska – After a day of semifinal matches between Saint Leo vs. Nova Southern, and Barry vs. West Alabama, our finalists have now been determined at the 2024 ITA Division II Women’s National Team Indoor Championship.

Our first semifinal of the day at the Ernest Grundy Tennis Center was Saint Leo University vs. Nova Southeastern.

Saint Leo would be looking to advance to its second straight National Team Indoor Championship Final while Nova Southeastern would be vying for their first shot at the title. Nova Southeastern took the doubles point with a 6-1 victory at #2 and a 6-2 victory at #3. Going into singles, Nova Southeastern had all the momentum, taking first sets in five out of the six matches. This advantage helped The Sharks propel their way into finals after straight set wins on courts 1, 4, and 5.

The defending champions, Barry, faced off The University of West Alabama in our second semifinal of the day.

Barry looked to be in top seed form after dropping the doubles point yesterday, today they continued that momentum into wins on doubles courts #2 and #3. In singles, following suit of Nova Southeastern, Barry would go on to take opening sets on five courts. West Alabama would capitalize on their lone opening set win with a straight set win on #2.
