Job Summary

The Second Assistant Men’s Tennis Coach will report directly to the Head Men’s Tennis Coach, with goals of mentoring, leading and coaching student athletes to the highest standards, all within the rules of the NCAA and Wake Forest athletics.

Essential Functions

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Devotes full time attention and energies to duties as Second Assistant Coach
  • Complies fully with the rules, regulations, and policies of the University, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the Wake Forest Athletic Department
  • Assist the Head Coach in the recruitment of student athletes that fit the goals of the Men’s Tennis team both domestically and internationally
  • Assist the Head coach in fostering excellence in academic performance, team and personal conduct, and community service
  • Uses reasonable efforts to meet annual performance objectives established by the Head Coach.
  • Continually uphold the standards and expectations of the Wake Forest Men’s Tennis team and athletic department
  • Continually attempt to ensure the safety of student-athletes at all times

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution.
  • High level playing experience either in college tennis and/or professional tennis
  • Ability to work weekends and nights.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Working knowledge of rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletics.
  • Moderate to high movement and activity required; responsibilities include extended periods of standing.
  • Valid drivers license
