University of Idaho – Head Men’s Tennis Coach


Position Overview: The Head Men’s Tennis Coach is responsible for all facets of the NCAA Div. I men’s intercollegiate tennis programs. The position reports directly to the Director of Athletics or their designee). Duties include: coaching of players individually and as a team during practices and competition; recruiting of top-quality student-athletes; match preparation; scheduling matches/tournaments; team travel arrangements; administration of operating budget; supervision of part-time/student assistants; conditioning program; fundraising, promotional, and public relations activities; summer collegiate camps; and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics or designee.

This position must be in compliance with all NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations and must display professional integrity.

Position Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • NCAA tennis coaching experience
  • Experience complying with NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Required Other:

  • Must have a passing grade on the NCAA recruiting compliance test annually

Additional Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree
  • 3 years of successful men’s tennis coaching experience, preferably at NCAA Div. I level
  • Intercollegiate competitive experience as a player
  • Ability to recruit top-quality student-athletes at the NCAA Div. I level
  • Familiarity with Northwest and international recruiting areas
  • Solid computer skills relating to recruiting
  • Commitment to student athlete wellbeing and to the student athlete experience
  • Demonstrated administrative, public relations, and organizational skills
  • Ability to establish good rapport and working relationships with student-athletes, administration, coaching staffs, university personnel, and the general public
  • Coaching and administrative experience with summer camps
