The Athletics Department at Southwestern College is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Graduate Assistant Coach for the Men’s and Women’s Tennis programs.
Position Description
Duties for position include assisting the head coach in all aspects of the program (practices, matches, recruiting, conditioning, overseeing academics, etc.). Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience preferred. Recruiting experience encouraged but not required. Good character & communication skills, self-motivation, and leadership skills are essential. Graduate assistant coaches are expected to engage with diverse student body by residing on campus, regularly dining in the cafeteria and attending student-centered activities and events.
Position compensated with graduate studies, housing, coaching & meal stipend.
Position begins August 1, 2024
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and admission into a Southwestern College graduate program
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Weekend and evening hours required
- Driver’s license required (personal vehicle preferred)
Compensation
Stipend: $5,000/year
Tuition: Full tuition waiver
Housing: On campus apartment
Meals: Meal plan provided
