This position is set to begin August 2024 

Job Functions:

Assist in player development, training, administrative and program management of an NCAA Division 1 tennis program and student-athletes at Campbell University. Selected individual will also be a part of prospective student-athlete recruitment and must be able to effectively communicate his/her understanding of the game. Must also be able to operate independently in the absence of the Head Coach.

Required: 

Must be accepted and enrolled in a graduate program at Campbell University. GMAT or GRE are required. Included are the cost of graduate tuition, books and medical insurance as needed. There is an associated stipend of $5,200 per semester to cover the cost of living.

Practice  
Assist in the planning and execution of practices and individual skill development of student-athletes as designated by the Head Coach. 

Program Administration
Assist in the administration of the Men’s Tennis program as it relates to the Department of Athletics and Campbell University. Must be computer literate and well-versed in Microsoft Office and social media.

Policy and Procedure Complianc
Maintain compliance with all NCAA, CAA (Coastal Athletic Association) and Campbell University policies and procedures. Must adhere to all policies in effect by the NCAA, the university, and team policies. 

Travel 
Assist with team travel administration as directed by the Head Coach. Must have a current license and be cleared to drive a 15-person van per Campbell University policy.

Equipment Inventory
Manage equipment usage and disbursement. Must be able to string racquets for practice and competition.

Academics
To assist with the academic development of the student-athlete.

Preferred: 

Experience having played college tennis at a high level, preferably the NCAA D1 level. Previous coaching experience is an additional asset. The ideal candidate would be someone who desires to be a college coach using the degree earned to further that pursuit.  

The selected individual must be flexible and adaptable to changes made and be able to support the decision of the Head Coach.

Individuals will have good communication skills and therefore be able to promote the program here on campus through interactions with players, students, faculty, and staff. 

Should possess the skills to communicate effectively with coaches, parents, and players throughout the U.S. and worldwide due to the global nature of our sport. The selected individual should be well-traveled and have been exposed to different cultures to communicate with our student-athletes most effectively.
