Eight of the nation’s best women’s tennis teams have all arrived in Nicholasville, Kentucky for the playing of the 2024 ITA Division III Women’s National Team Indoor Championship.

Taking place at the Top Seed Tennis Club, teams will all compete beginning Friday, March 1st, and will each be guaranteed three matches with the finals being played on Sunday, March 3rd where an ITA Indoor National Team Champion will be crowned.

What Is It

The ITA Division III Women’s National Team Indoor Championship brings together eight of the most talented teams from across the country for a weekend of play that will crown a National Champion at its conclusion. The ITA Division III Women’s National Team Indoor Championship has been one of the most prestigious national collegiate tournaments since it began and is a staple of the collegiate tennis spring season.  

Besides the host, teams qualify for the ITA Division III Women’s National Team Indoor Championships through the 2022-23 ITA Year-End Rankings with the top seven ranked teams in the final ITA Collegiate Team Rankings all earning invites into the Championship.


When Is It

The 2024 ITA Division III Women’s National Team Indoor Championship will take place from Friday, March 1st through Sunday, March 3rd with the Championship Match being played on Sunday, March 3rd.


Where Is It

Hosted by Sewanee: The University of the South, play from the 2024 ITA Division III Women’s National Team Indoor Championship will be held at the Top Seed Tennis Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky.


Event Format

The format for the 2024 ITA Division III Women’s National Team Indoor Championship will be piloting the Division I collegiate format, with teams playing a seven-point format, with doubles accounting for one of the possible seven points, and singles accounting for the remaining six points. 

As a single-elimination tournament, teams will play one match each day with the Championship Match being played on Sunday, March 3rd, not before 10:30 a.m. (ET). However, all teams are guaranteed to play at least three matches over the weekend through either the main or consolation draw.

The field at the 2024 ITA Division III Women’s National Team Indoor Championship includes: Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (1), Univ. of Chicago (2), Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (3), Emory University (4), Johns Hopkins University (5), MIT (6), Sewanee, Univ. of The South (7), and Carnegie Mellon University (8).


What Is the Schedule

The schedule for the 2024 ITA Division III Women’s National Team Indoor Championship will see two matches go on court at 9 am (ET) and two matches go on court at 2 pm (ET) each day (the final day will push the afternoon matches up to 8 am (ET) and not before 10:30 am (ET)). The Championship match will be played not before 10:30 am (ET) on Sunday.
