INDIANAPOLIS, IN. – After the first day of competition and four 4-3 thrillers, the semifinal match-ups for the 2024 ITA Division II National Men’s Team Indoor Championship are set. 

In the morning matches, it was No. 7 Flagler College with the upset over No. 2 Valdosta State in a close 4-3 battle. Having dropped the doubles point, the Saints stormed back by taking courts No. 1, 2, 3 and 4. The Blazers didn’t go down without putting up a fight first, grabbing the wins at No. 5 and 6 singles. 

In the second match of the morning, No. 3 Saint Leo defeated No. 6 West Florida in another close 4-3 victory. The Lions earned the doubles points and found themselves up 3-0 with singles wins by Martin Soukal and Dylan Andrianaly. The Argonauts won three straight matches at the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 singles sports before Vincent Thiel sealed the deal and clinched the match to send Saint Leo to their second straight semifinal appearance at the ITA DII Men’s Indoors. Flagler and Saint Leo will meet tomorrow in the first semifinal of the day. 

Moving into the afternoon session, No. 4 Columbus State came back from an 0-3 deficit to defeat UIndy. The Cougars found their stride after losing the doubles point and singles matches at No. 1 and No. 5 to win four matches in a row at the No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 singles positions.  

In the last quarterfinal match of the day, No. 1 Barry University got the win over No. 8 Wayne State. The Buccaneers lost the doubles point and the No. 1 and No. 2 singles spots but found their momentum on courts No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6. Barry University will face Columbus State tomorrow in the second semifinal of the day.
