SEATTLE, Wash. – The quarterfinals are now set at the ITA Division I Women’s National Team Indoor Championship after an exciting first day of play concludes from the Nordstrom Tennis Center and Seattle Tennis Club.

In the morning matches, Michigan (4), Stanford (2), Virginia, and Ohio State all took care of business to advance to the quarterfinals. Ohio State and Virginia were the lone non-seeded teams to advance on the opening day of competition and will look to carry their momentum through the remaining three days of the tournament.

Out of this group, both Michigan and Ohio State each advanced to the Quarterfinals of the 2023 ITA Division I Women’s National Team Indoor Championships, while Virginia avenges a first-round loss from last year’s championship and Stanford earns their first main draw victory at an ITA Indoor Championship since the 2020 season.

Across the evening matches, the seeded teams of North Carolina (1), Oklahoma State (3), Texas (6), and NC State (8) all earned opening round victories to advance further into the championship.

Out of these four matches, Oklahoma State was the lone team to sweep their opponent, as the remaining matches would finish either 4-1 or 4-2 in favor of the higher-seeded team.

Quarterfinal play will begin at 9 am (PST) from the Nordstrom Tennis Center and fans are encouraged to attend the action if they are in the area, or if you cannot make it, follow along with the extensive coverage of the tournament on the ITA website or social media channels.
