TEMPE, AZ – It is with great excitement that the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announces the relaunch of the College Tennis Alumni Network. Established in 2019, today’s relaunch will build on the successful groundwork paved by founding Alumni Network members and chapters, while offering alumni connectivity and networking opportunities unlike ever before.

The College Tennis Alumni Network was founded with the mission of helping college tennis alumni connect, supporting current student-athletes and alumni as they transition from college tennis to the professional world, and building an advocate base for college tennis. Behind these founding principles and the dedicated work from ITA Community Manager, Elicia Smith, the future of the College Tennis Alumni Network has never been brighter.

“There is a large and passionate family of college tennis alums who have proven their desire to advance our sport,” said ITA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Timothy Russell. “This array of players who span generations, including recent graduates, remember ITA Championships, Awards, and programs as well as the ITA’s long-standing work on behalf of the game. They understand the important intersection of college tennis and higher education, including at their alma maters and in promoting the sport in their communities.”

Featuring a new online platform for members, college tennis alumni can now create a profile, add friends, and send messages from member to member within seconds. This website will also be a central location for news from all of the College Tennis Alumni Network chapters as various in-person and virtual networking events continue to be established.

“With several former collegians excelling on the international stage and college tennis in the limelight like never before, there isn’t a better time than now to relaunch the College Tennis Alumni Network,” stated ITA Community Manager, Elicia Smith. “We look forward to seeing the network connect the many college tennis alums from around the world who remain engaged with the sport and continue to progress it. With the alumni network also open to all current student-athletes, we are excited to see the network prepare and support them in their transition out of college athletics into the professional world.”

Currently, the ITA College Tennis Alumni Network has a chapter presence in Virginia, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Illinois, Wisconsin, Arizona, Texas, The District of Columbia, and Australia. If you are interested in creating a chapter in your city or hosting an in-person networking event, please contact Elicia Smith at [email protected]

Joining is free of charge and any current or former college tennis athletes can create their account by visiting the College Tennis Alumni Network website. A monthly Alumni Network newsletter will be sent out as well, if you are not already subscribed to the ITA newsletter you can subscribe here.
