The Women’s Tennis Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in organizing and managing all phases of a Division I Tennis program, including recruiting, team travel, strength & conditioning, student-athlete academic monitoring, public speaking, competition scheduling, budget management, and community/donor relations.

Brief Description of Duties:

  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and overall operation of the tennis program in accordance with all University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Assist with providing a competitive Division I tennis program that emphasizes integrity; supports the development, education, and welfare of its student-athletes; and strives for athletic and academic excellence within the University’s mission.
  • Effectively coach, organize, and conduct practice and competition, demonstrating thorough knowledge of the sport of tennis and an ability to develop student-athletes to their full potential.
  • Support and assist with planning, implementing, and monitoring programs, initiatives and efforts designed to achieve goals for graduation and academic achievement of student-athletes.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletic competition, including the rules and regulations of the NCAA and the Mountain West Conference and always maintain compliance therewith.
  • Be organized with the details – organizing gameday operations, social media, travel planning and operational budget.  
  • Assist with organizing and implementing a comprehensive recruiting plan and budget.
  • Assist in developing community and alumni support.  This can include implementing and conducting promotional and fundraising activities and camps/clinics in the facility. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NCAA playing experience.
  • At least one year of Collegiate level coaching experience.

Pay Range/Term:

Offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly related to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile. 

Part-time Position
Stipend Amount bi-weekly or monthly.
10 months (August 1st to May 31st)
$22,000-30,000
