2023 ITA NATIONAL INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

After another successful Division I Women’s National Team Indoor Championship in Seattle, sights will now turn to the male counterpart as sixteen teams are gearing up to try to claim their spot in history at the 2023 ITA Division I Men’s National Team Indoor Championship.

Taking place at the XS Tennis Village, play will run from Friday, February 17th thru Monday, February 20th when a National Team Indoor Champion is crowned.

What Is It

The ITA Division I Men’s National Team Indoor Championship is a National Championship that welcomes 16 of the top teams from across the country to Chicago, IL to battle it out on a national stage. Now in its 49th year, the ITA Division I Men’s Indoor Championship has seen the likes of John McEnroe, John Isner, Kevin Anderson, JJ Wolf, and most recently Ben Shelton all compete and is widely considered one of the most storied events in all of college tennis.  

Besides, the host Illinois, teams qualify for the ITA Division I Men’s National Team Indoor Championships through the ITA Kickoff Weekend which puts the top 60 teams in competition across 15 regional host sites around the country.


When Is It

The 2023 ITA Division I Men’s National Team Indoor Championship will take place from Feb. 17 thru Feb. 20 with the Championship Match being played on Monday, February 20th.


Where Is It

Hosted by the University of Illinois, play from the 2023 ITA Division I Men’s National Team Indoor Championships will be held at the XS Tennis Village in Chicago, Illinois.

Two matches will be played simultaneously at the XS Tennis Center during each match time. The Championship match will be the only match on court on Monday and will be played at 12 pm (CT).

Cracked Racquets will once again be providing coverage of this event with seasoned broadcasters, Alex Gruskin and Mike Cation set to provide commentary all weekend long.

The Cracked Racquets stream on YouTube will incorporate all matches taking place at XS Tennis Village over all four days of play.

Broadcasts will begin with the first match Friday morning and will continue through the championship match on Monday.


Event Format

The format for the 2023 ITA Division I Men’s National Team Indoor Championships will follow the traditional collegiate format, with teams playing a seven-point format, with doubles accounting for one of the possible seven points, and singles accounting for the remaining six points. 

As a single-elimination tournament, teams will play one match each day with the Championship Match being played on Monday, February 20, at 12 pm (CT). All teams are guaranteed to play at least three matches over the weekend through either the main or consolation draw.

What Is the Schedule

The schedule for the 2023 ITA Division I Men’s National Team Indoor Championships will see matches go on court at 9 am (CT), 12 pm (CT), 3:30 pm (CT), and 6:30 pm (CT) each day. The Championship match will be played at 12 pm (CT) on Monday.

How Can I Attend

The University of Illinois is selling all-session day tickets for $60 and single-session tickets for $25 at the XS Tennis Village. Tickets can be purchased beforehand here.
