Following the conclusion of play on day two, No. 1 Barry and No. 3 Saint Leo are set to meet in the finals of the ITA Division II Men’s National Team Indoor Championship. With the Lions coming into the tournament as defending champions and the Buccaneers having won in 2022, both teams will look to hoist the trophy for a second time in program history.

In the first semifinal match of the day, No. 3 Saint Leo University took on No. 7 Flagler College which proved to be a back and forth contest. Saint Leo grabbed the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and 3 spots but quickly got down in singles, losing the first set on every court. Despite the hole the Lions found themselves in, they earned the wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles while Flagler responded with wins at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions. With the match on the line on the remaining courts, it was Saint Leo’s Dylan Andrianaly at No. 6 who clinched the victory for the Lions.

In the second semifinal between No. 1 Barry University and No. 4 Columbus State, it was the Buccaneers who came out on top. Throughout doubles, the momentum shifted back and forth with the Cougars getting the 7-5 win at No. 1 while the Buccaneers got the 7-6(3) victory at No. 2. Rieme and Riedel secured the doubles point for Barry though in a close 7-6(4) nail biter of a set.

Heading into singles play, the Cougars put up a fight getting the wins at No. 3 and No. 6 but the Buccaneers were too strong and secured the wins at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5.

Tomorrow’s final will begin at 2:30 pm (ET) from the UIndy Tennis Center. Fans can follow all of the action right here on the ITA website or on the ITA social media channels (@ITA_Tennis on Instagram and X).
