The ITA Division I Regional Championships are in full swing across the country. Specific to the region, some players qualified for ITA Super Regionals, while others directly qualified for the season-ending ITA National Fall Championships in San Diego, California on Nov. 1-5, 2023.

At the Mountain Regional championships, Utah State’s fifth-year senior Bodin Zarkovic defeated Daniel Sancho Arbizu of Denver 3-6, 6-0, 6-3, becoming only the third Aggie in program history to reach the finals of the tournament and the first ever Aggie to win the men’s singles title. Wally Thayne and Zach Fuchs (BYU) won the doubles title, defeating No. 55 Geronimo Busleiman and Berk Bugarikj of Utah in a tight 5-7, 6-3, (10-4) victory. Entering the weekend, Utah’s duo was the top doubles team in the tournament. Busleiman was the 2022 ITA Mountain Regional champion.

Alabama Petra Sedlackova (Alabama) claimed her first Southern Regional singles championship title, defeating Kinaa Graham of LSU 6-0, 2-6, 6-1 in the finals. This was Sedlackova’s first appearance in the main draw singles finals after three consecutive appearances in the event’s semifinals. Mississippi State’s Alexandra Mikhailuk and Athina Pitta came from behind to win the doubles final against LSU’s Kinaa Graham and Anita Sahdiieva 1-6, 7-5, (10-4). Mikhailuk and Pitta are the first Bulldogs in recent Mississippi State history to qualify for the ITA National Fall Championships.

Players who made it to the final rounds of the Men’s and Women’s Northwest and Northeast Regional championships qualified for the ITA Super Regionals which will be held later this month. For a full list of qualifiers, refer to the tournament page.
