Berths in the ITA Women’s All-American Championship singles and doubles finals were on the line today at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina.

After a short weather delay, #2 seed Mary Stoiana of Texas A&M was the first player to secure her spot in the championships, defeating South Carolina’s Sarah Hamner 7-5, 6-4. Stoiana is the first player in Aggie program history to advance to the finals of the ITA Women’s All-American Championships.

#3 seed Alexa Noel of Miami booked her ticket to the championships shortly after by getting the win over #5 seed South Carolina’s Ayana Akli 6-1, 4-6, 6-1.  Noel becomes the second Hurricane player ever to reach the All-American Women’s Singles final, joining Sinead Lohan in 2015.  Noel reached the All-American Women’s Singles final in 2021 when she played for Iowa, falling to Hamner.

Tomorrow’s singles final between Stoiana and Noel will begin at 11 am ET.

In doubles, Virginia’s Melodie Collard and Annabelle Xu had a tight straight-set victory over lucky losers NC State’s Anna Zyryanova and Sophie Abrams 7-5, 7-6 (3) to become the first team in program history to reach the All-American doubles final.

Oklahoma qualifiers Dana Guzman and Alina Shcherbinina took down A&M’s Stoiana and Mia Kupres 6-4, 6-2 to become the first Sooners duo to reach the Women’s All-American doubles championship match.

In tomorrow’s 12:30 pm ET doubles final, Collard and Xu will face Guzman and Shcherbinina. Both teams enter the finals unseeded.
