ITA member schools across the country celebrated #NatlSADay by highlighting the hard work, dedication, and achievements of student-athletes on and off the court.
In the past our student-athletes have celebrated National Student-Athlete Day in a variety of ways, including hosting youth clinics, honoring their peers for academic accomplishments, speaking engagements at elementary and high schools and other local outreach initiatives.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic this year, student-athletes are spread out across the world and separated from their teammates and campus communities. In order to celebrate our current student-athletes, below are some of the social media messages ITA member institutions published.
We can’t thank you enough for your dedication to your teammates, coaches, universities, and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. We are continuously inspired by your effort to grow personally, intellectually and athletically! This day is dedicated entirely to you!
National Student-Athlete Day is an excellent way to put the spotlight on the great academic and athletic accomplishments of our student-athletes and celebrate the way student-athletes are giving back to their community.
This is an opportunity to thank all the student-athletes that work so hard day in and day out. We can’t wait to see them back in action. When you’re playing against a stacked deck – compete even harder! You can’t pick the cards you are handed in this life; however, you can choose how you play them! Choose confidence. Choose to win. Choose to rise above.
National Student-Athlete Day is generally recognized on April 6 nationwide, but is celebrated the end of March throughout the month of April. Student-athletes celebrated this year’s National Student-Athlete Day in a variety of ways on social media from their homes this year. From all of us at the ITA – thank you!
