College Contenders: University of Florida

Welcome to the third edition of the Cracked Racquets 2020-21 College Contenders, focusing on Florida tennis.

The Florida Gators will need to press on without their top player and heartbeat of the team over the past several years, but Head Coach Bryan Shelton should still have plenty of ammunition to compete for the SEC crown this spring.

The Gators have a nice mix of experience, youth, and talent which will serve them well as they progress through the season. The men from Gainesville were off to a solid start last year, as they secured victories over teams like Illinois, Columbia, and Wake Forest prior to the season being canceled. The depth for Florida could be the key to success in 2021 as the Gators will need contributions from the entire squad in order to make a deep postseason run.

Here is CR’s examination of Florida’s roster.
