Geoffrey “Geoff” Russell is the CEO and founder of SPINN and a leader in tennis player development, combining technical expertise, data-driven innovation, and a deep passion for growing the game. With over a decade of service with USTA Player Development, Geoff has played a pivotal role in shaping pathways for junior and collegiate players to reach their highest potential. In recent years, Geoff has expanded his impact through consulting work with college tennis programs, advising on the adoption of optical tracking, wearable sensors, and other sports‑tech tools to support performance, recruitment, and development strategies. He is regularly featured in coaching podcasts discussing how technology, data, and coaching philosophy intersect in modern player development. Beyond his roles in consulting, Geoff is known as someone who seeks to bridge innovation and tradition, helping coaches and athletes better leverage tools without losing sight of fundamentals.

Jamea Jackson joined the Sun Devils as Women’s Tennis Head Coach announced on June 4, 2024. Jackson is the third head coach in program history since 1954, taking over after legendary head coach Sheila McInerney announced her retirement in May. She comes to Tempe after being head coach of the Princeton Tigers for two seasons, leading them to back-to-back trips to the Round of 32 (2023,2024) in the NCAA Tournament along with two Ivy League titles (2023, 2024). Jackson is a former professional and brings talent from the national and collegiate level, before going to Princeton, Jackson served as a national coach for nine years (2013-2022) with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) to recruit top American talent for developing the nation’s best junior and pro tennis players. She trained 2022 ITA Rookie of the Year Connie Ma and captained the U16 team to the Jr. Billie Jean King Cup Team Championship in 2019.

Tim grew up in tennis, achieving the highest level as a junior player, college player, and on the pro tour before moving into college coaching at Texas Tech University. Navigating many very difficult and emotional situations, Siegel has spent his time after coaching running Team Luke Hope for Minds, a non profit that supports children after brain injury in honor of his son. Siegel has worked with some of the biggest stars in the sports world to raise awareness and money for children through this non-profit and frequently meets with tennis programs across the country to share his story with these teams.

Craig O’Shaunnessy is widely recognized as the world leader in teaching and analyzing tennis strategy. Craig specializes in this specific area of the sport, creating his online Brain Game Tennis business to teach players, coaches, and fans the patterns of play, and winning percentages that dominate our sport. Craig has coached on tour for 20 years, most notably working with Team Novak Djokovic from 2017-2019. During that time, Craig helped guide the Serb back to world No. 1 and also win four Grand Slam events, including back-to-back Wimbledon titles. Recently, Craig has worked with Team Matteo Berrettini, helping guide the Italian into the Top 10 in the world and reach the Wimbledon final. Craig has also worked with other Top 10 players on the men’s & women’s tour, providing analysis of their game as well as detailed scouting reports on opponents.

Timothy Baghurst is the Director of FSU COACH: Interdisciplinary Center for Athletic Coaching at Florida State University. His research has evolved from exploring body image to examining health modeling in sport and health professions, stress and burnout in coaching, and methods for coach evaluation and certification. He has authored over 125 peer-reviewed articles, seven books, and numerous book chapters. A sought-after speaker on coaching and leadership, he is a Fellow of SHAPE America, the National Academy of Kinesiology, and the National Association for Kinesiology in Higher Education. An avid player, coach, and commentator for racquetball, squash 57, and pickleball, Tim has represented England internationally and previously served as Head Coach of the USA Racquetball Junior National Team.

Mark Bey is a nine-time coach of the year and been a featured presenter at over 100 conventions. In 2017, he was inducted into the Midwest USPTA Hall of Fame. Mark is the director of the Championship Training Academy in Glenview IL and has been a trench junior developer for 34 years. Mark’s clients have had astounding success at the junior, collegiate and professional levels with 80 students with top 3 finishes as junior nationals, 25 clients ranked in the ITA national rankings, and 17 players who have competed in the NCAA individual championships, including 3 NCAA champions. Mark was an assistant coach on the pro tour with the Bryan Brothers for 17 years and currently is the assistant coach for the US Davis Cup team. Mark has been a commentator for college tennis since 2014, calling all the premier events in college tennis.

Linda is Program Director of the Women in High-Performance Sport (WISH) initiative — an Olympic Solidarity–funded program designed to increase the number of women coaching at the Olympic Games. WISH has supported over 125 women from 60 countries and 22 sports, equipping them to coach at the highest levels of performance. Named UK Coach Developer of the Year, Linda is known for her engaging, reflective facilitation style that builds confidence, courage, and connection.

Sarah is Founding Director of e.t.c coaching consultants and Program Director of the Commonwealth Women’s Leadership Programme and IWLCA ASPIRE Program. A specialist in coach learning and leadership, she has partnered with organizations such as the USOPC and UK Coaching to design systems that recruit, develop, and sustain women leaders in sport. Known for her strategic insight and her ability to translate vision into practice, Sarah creates learning environments that inspire lasting growth and impact.

Head Men’s Coach

Jason Brown enters his ninth season as head coach of Montana Men’s Tennis. The 2018 Big Sky Coach of the Year has led the Grizzlies to consistent success, including multiple program-best rankings and postseason appearances. A UM alum and former assistant, Brown has guided the team to a 78-60 record and unmatched academic excellence, earning the Dusten Hollist Award for top team GPA every year since 2020. Brown began his tennis coaching career as a high school coach. Prior to that, Brown was a professional poker player.

Denver
Head Women’s Coach

Paul Wardlaw is a highly accomplished collegiate tennis coach, currently serving as the head coach of the University of Denver women’s tennis program as of the 2021-22 season. Over his career, he has built a reputation for consistent winning: under his leadership at Denver the team has secured multiple Summit League titles and NCAA Tournament appearances. He is also the author of a book titled Pressure Tennis and is well known for his tactical approach called “Wardlaw Directionals.”

As President of The PICTOR Group, Sandy Hatfield Clubb brings 28 years of expertise in intercollegiate athletics administration. She provides strategic insights to a diverse range of clients, including the NCAA, USA Gymnastics, USA Triathlon, Women Leaders in College Sports, and multiple NCAA institutions. Sandy also consults for The Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics and is a certified Talent Optimization Specialist with Humanlytics. Previously, Sandy served as Athletics Director at Drake University, where she was recognized as NACDA’s Under Armor Athletics Director of the Year for the Football Championships Subdivision.

Scott Nelson, a veteran fundraiser and respected industry leader, joined Arizona State University as the Senior Associate Athletics Director of Sun Devil Athletics and Executive Director of the Sun Devil Club in August of 2016. Nelson comes to the Sun Devils with more than a decade of experience in collegiate athletics development and has made stops at UCLA, Ohio State University and Oregon State University during his career. He will report to Gretchen Buhlig, Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director at the ASU Foundation, and Rocky Harris, Chief Operating Officer at Sun Devil Athletics, and work closely with the Sun Devil Club Board of Directors.

Acknowledged as the leading developer of Racquet Complexes and Venues in the Country. Created the National Campus in Lake Nona, FL. Now investing in Leaders and their sport tech startups and sports real estate developments Virgil provided the vision and created The Home of American Tennis, a 100 million dollar tennis Campus, which included the relocation of the United States Tennis Association (the USTA is largest NGB in the world) to Lake Nona, FL. With his partner the Tavistock Group, he brokered the deal that moved the USTA from White Plains, New York. He played collegiate tennis at Penn State and then very briefly the professional circuit, he has been elected to multiply Athletic Hall of Fames.
