ELECTRONIC LINE CALLING

APPROVED ELECTRONIC LINE CALLING SYSTEM LIST (AUGUST 2025)

In June of 2025, the ITA Rules Committee approved the use of Electronic Line Calling in college tennis.  ITA Rule I.V – Electronic Line Calling states:

“The ITA will maintain a current list of ITA approved electronic line calling (“ELC”) systems. ITA approval for any ELC system is contingent upon the ELC system having obtained the appropriate certification from the International Tennis Federation (“ITF”). Only ELC systems that are ITA approved and listed on the “ITA’s Approved ELC System List” can be used during any dual match, ITA Regional, ITA Sectional, ITA National, or ITA-Sanctioned Tournament or Event. The use of an ITA-approved ELC system during a dual match, ITA Regional, ITA Sectional, ITA National, or ITA-Sanctioned Tournament or Event must follow all the rules, requirements, processes, and procedures delineated in the “ITA ELC Protocol” that is maintained and regularly updated by the ITA and available on the ITA’s website or by contacting the ITA’s Senior Director of Officiating. Further, any ITA member institution using any approved ELC system must notify the ITA Senior Director of Officiating so that the ITA can maintain its list of “ITA Institutions Using Approved ELC Systems.”

If the host site, tournament site, event sponsor, tournament organizer, home team, visiting team, or any other dual match or tournament participant experiences any issue, complaint, or problem (the “ELC Grievance”) with an ITA-approved ELC system, that entity or individual may click on the following link to file a report to be reviewed by the ITA: ITA ELC Grievance Form. This Form MUST be filed within 24 hours of: (1) the completion of the dual match; or (2) the last day of the individual tournament which used the ITA-approved ELC system.  While the ITA and the ITA Rules Committee will review ELC Grievances related to accuracy, please understand that the accuracy of any ITA-approved ELC system has already been established by the required International Tennis Federation (ITF) classification (Silver, required of all ELC systems on the ITA’s Approved ELC System List).

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are protesting or seeking to change/overturn any results (e.g., a dual match or individual match result), completing the above form does NOT satisfy your protest requirements. You must follow all appropriate and established ITA or conference processes to challenge/overturn any results.
