Tempe, AZ – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) is pleased to announce the continuation of the ITA Community Service Challenge, a two-month initiative for programs to give back to the communities that support them so much throughout the season.

Being held over October and November, this year will mark the second year of the newly revamped ITA Community Service Challenge, which builds on the foundation of the previously held ITA Community Service Month. With over $3,500 in cash prizes as well as a trip to the ATP Finals, courtesy of Dunlop, on the line, programs will be incentivised to complete as many hours of service as possible to reach higher tiers of cash prizes.

“The return of the ITA Community Service Challenge in 2025 surpassed all expectations, with participating teams dedicating a total of nearly 700 hours toward serving their local communities,” said ITA Community Manager and Digital Products Coordinator Elicia Smith. “We are thrilled to build on this incredible momentum, deliver on the core values of college tennis, and see how teams go above and beyond this year!”

In year one, teams from across the country took part in the ITA Community Service Challenge, highlighted by Fresno State University and its women’s tennis team, who completed over 100 hours of community service across the two months. Using their courts to welcome the community, Fresno State held adaptive tennis clinics for a local children’s hospital, wheelchair tennis clinics alongside their university’s club wheelchair tennis program, as well as numerous other activities that brought community members to their courts to take part in activities supported by the volunteers on the women’s tennis team.

Aimed to instill a lifelong commitment to service while showcasing the positive impact student-athletes have beyond the court, the ITA Community Service Challenge aims to build communities around college tennis programs, fostering healthy growth and support of college tennis programs for years to come.

In addition to a new tiered system that incentivises teams to reach new community service hour milestones, programs can also take part in a social media drawing in which $500 will be awarded via a drawing to one program that uses the hashtag #CollegeTennisServes on social media. Additionally, any program that submits at least one or more hour of service will be entered into a drawing for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the ATP Finals, courtesy of Dunlop.
