Plano, TX – The 2026 NJCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Championship begins today, May 11th, and will run through May 15th when a national champion will be crowned. Played at the Collin College Tennis Facility in Plano, TX, players will compete in flighted draws with teams earning points towards a team total based on their players finish in each flighted draw.
Tyler Junior College is the reigning National Champions, earning first place finishes in singles flights No. 5 as well as all three doubles flights, giving the Apaches nine points more than second place finishers Barton who earned their best finish in program history as runners-up.
In the latest ITA Team Rankings, defending national champions, Tyler, come in at No. 2 in the country just behind Pratt who have gone 15-3-1 on the season to this point, with all three losses coming to teams outside of the NJCAA level. Pratt also defeated Tyler 5-4 when they faced off back on March 13th in Tyler.
Across the ITA Singles Rankings, Tyler places three players in the Top Ten of the rankings, coming in at No. 1, No. 6, and No. 10 respectively. The Apaches also place two doubles teams in the Top Five of the ITA Doubles Rankings.
