London, England – It will be a record-setting year at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships as 35 players with ties to college tennis are set to take part in the Gentlemen’s and Ladies’ Singles Main Draws.

In the Gentlemen’s Singles Main Draw, 26 current and former college tennis players will take center stage at one of the biggest tournaments in the world. Since 2000, the 26 players with college ties marks the highest level of representation of collegiate athletes in the Gentlemen’s Singles Main Draw at Wimbledon.

Of these 26 men’s athletes, half played at the collegiate level as recently as the spring of 2022, including Jack Pinnington Jones (TCU) and Oliver Tarvet (San Diego) who both competed this past spring for their respective universities.

Six men’s players enter Wimbledon ranked within the Top 50 of the ATP Singles Rankings with Ben Shelton (Florida), Francisco Cerundolo (South Carolina), and Brandon Nakashima (Virginia) all being seeded players in the draw. In 2024, Shelton reached the fourth round on the grass courts, while Nakashima and Cameron Norrie (TCU) each advanced to the third round.

Across the Ladies’ Singles Main Draw, nine former college tennis players will be looking to make a splash on the grass courts. Similarly to the men, three players will enter Wimbledon as seeded players with Emma Navarro (Virginia), Diana Shnaider (NC State), and Mccartney Kessler (Florida) all earning the distinction of being seeds after continuing to impress on tour.

Seven of these nine athletes competed at the collegiate level as recently as the spring of 2021, with six of these seven competing as recently as the spring of 2022. After qualifying, Carson Branstine (Texas A&M) will make her Grand Slam debut in London as the 24 year old continues to fly up the WTA Singles Rankings this year.
