Before coming to the university of Idaho as the head men’s tennis coach in 2023, Raleigh Grossbaum’s coaching journey took him from a Professional tennis management Degree from Ferris State, to coaching at the USTA National Campus, to assistant coaching stints at Boise State, the University of Georgia, Dartmouth, and a head coaching position at Southern Utah University. In this podcast, Raleigh shares what drives his passion for college tennis, and opens up about the devastating experience of having his Southern Utah program cut during COVID-19, a stark reminder of the current challenges facing non-revenue sports.

Raleigh’s experience has fueled his mission at the University of Idaho: to make college tennis indispensable. Raleigh and Dave discuss the steps that he is taking to make sure his program is vital to his athletics department. He also gives advice that all coaches should consider implementing as soon as possible. College tennis is at a critical juncture. Coaches are encouraged to look at all aspects of their program and consider what are truly priorities at this moment.
