As a four year letter winner at Mississippi State University, University of Memphis head men’s tennis coach Chris Doerr has spent his entire adult life in and around college tennis both as a player and coach. Beginning as a volunteer assistant at his alma mater, Doerr’s journey has taken him to Memphis as a full-time assistant for six years before going to Florida State where he spent four seasons as an assistant coach before returning to Memphis to take the head coaching job.

Chris shares his perspective on the importance of staying in one place, working for good people and learning the ins and outs of the profession.
