The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the ITA Women’s Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame Committee. The ITA Women’s Hall of Fame Nominating Committee is seeking coaches and individuals across all divisions with a passion, affinity and knowledge of the ITA Women’s Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame. Importance will be placed upon individuals with different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, as well as diversity of thought to ensure a committee that cultivates creative ideas, brainstorming and well thought through decision making.
The ITA Women’s Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame Committee shall be composed of not more than 15 voting members, including the Committee Chairperson and ITA CEO. Committee members will be elected to serve four year terms, with the new term starting January 1, 2025. Each induction year, a nominating subcommittee, comprised of a minimum of three Committee members, shall oversee the selection of potential new committee members and consider the renewal of terms for current committee members.
Applications are open now until November 6, 2024.
About the ITA Women’s Collegiate Hall of Fame – The ITA Women’s Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame, founded in 1995, was created to celebrate the milestones in women’s collegiate tennis, from the early struggles for recognition to the achievement of full-fledged intercollegiate competition. The Women’s Hall of Fame is operated by The College of William & Mary and is housed in the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center on the William & Mary campus. Since 1995, over 80 players, coaches and contributors have been inducted. Players are eligible for election to the Hall of Fame 10 years after the conclusion of their collegiate career. Coaches are eligible immediately following retirement. The main criteria for election are college accomplishments and honors earned after college.
