Tempe, AZ – After another summer has come and gone, it is now time once again to welcome students back to college campuses across the country for the start of another college tennis season. With a new look to the fall season, players will be on the road to the NCAA Individual Championships this fall as the tournament moves to November and the fall season.

As countless players return to their teams looking to improve on their game from last year, several highly touted newcomers will also be beginning their college tennis careers this fall. To help fans grasp where returning players and newcomers sit to start the season, the ITA has once again released its Division I Men’s Collegiate Tennis Preseason Singles and Doubles Rankings as well as the ITA Division I Men’s Newcomer Rankings.

In the men’s singles preseason rankings, Michigan State’s Ozan Baris claims the top spot entering the fall. After standout freshman and sophomore seasons, Baris becomes the first player in Michigan State program history to be ranked No. 1 in the ITA Singles Rankings, adding to the history he set last season by becoming the first No. 1 ranked doubles team in Michigan State history.

Moving into the preseason doubles rankings, the Mississippi State pairing of Petar Jovanovic and Benito Sanchez Martinez enter the fall as the top team in the country. This comes after the pairing put together an impressive run to the quarterfinals of the 2024 NCAA Doubles Championships this past May in Stillwater.

Finally, in the newcomer rankings, Antoine Ghibaudo of France has been tabbed as the top newcomer to college tennis. Making his way to Lexington to play for Kentucky, Ghibaudo has a career-high ATP ranking of No. 667, a career-high ITF junior ranking of No. 14, and a WTN rating of 3.5 entering college.
